The New Liskeard Branch of the Community of Christ is celebrating its 100 Anniversary this August 31 to September 2, 2012

Friday - Aug. 31 – 7:00 p.m. – Registration & Visiting
(Please bring items for the Silent Auction – Thank You)

Saturday - Sept. 1 - 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Breakfast – Free Will Offering
- 10:00 a.m. – Silent Auction Open
- 10:30 a.m. – Evangelist Clair Shepherdson presenting the book he has written about this branch of the Community of Christ, and a Remember When Sharing Time
- Activities for the children
- 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Lunch (on your own – lots of great places to eat around town)
- 1:00 p.m. – Welcome & Official Opening - Gymnasium
- 3:30 p.m. – Presentation Apostle Susan (Skoor) Oxley – World Church Apostle
- 5:30 p.m. – Silent Auction Closes
- 5:30 p.m. – Catered supper – register early – $20.00 only 100 tickets available
- 7:00 p.m. – Talent show (bring your talents & register) & Silent Auction
- 9:00 p.m. – Snacks

Sunday - Sept. 2 - Service – 10:00 a.m. – Apostle Susan (Skoor) Oxley

- 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Canadian East Mission Presentation – High Priest Carmen Thompson
- 7:00 p.m. – Euchre Tournament & other games.
Business:

1. Register so we have some idea how many to expect and register for the supper as well.
2. Order the book, “Celebrating a Century”, that Clair Shepherdson has written.
3. Bring items for Silent Auction – to help defray some expenses.
4. Bring talent for Talent Show i.e. musical instruments, stories, skits, YOU
5. Bring photo albums, memorabilia, etc. to display.
6. Bring a 12” x 12” scrapbook page or pages of a church or other organization activity that you experienced here. You might do one about someone who has passed away, or a special event i.e. party, class, group i.e. Scouting, Orioles, etc.. These will be posted around the walls as a “Remember When” and afterwards will be placed in a scrapbook album for remembrances.

The best opportunity for sharing and visiting with President and Mrs. Veazey is during the Open House scheduled on Saturday from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. due to a rather tight schedule for the remaining events of the weekend.

Remember, if you plan on attending the Open House to be able to personally visit with the Veazey's, please contact Sara at cofchrist_st@rogers.com  so that she can convey numbers to those arranging for the luncheon on Saturday.

For youth or young adults coming, a time will be set up for you with President Veazey between 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Temple School Course - Servants of God's People

We would like to invite anyone interested in attending a Temple School PA 140 Elders: A Specific Pre-Ordination Required Temple School Course about understanding the roles and functions of the ministry of priesthood in the office of Elder.)

The class will be instructed by Marion Smith in Barrie at the home of Virginia & Joe Hodgins, 1826 Hwy#26, Minesing on Saturday February 25 and Sunday the 26. Please RSVP as soon as possible to matthew@communityofchrist.ca . The cost is $20.00 which includes the text and course credit.
