Barrie Young Adult Events

Music and a Meal with Meaning (Sunday, March 1, 3 pm)
Barrie congregation has 3 young adults involved with raising funds for a World Accord Honduras build, but being an emerging congregation we don’t have a lot financial means to support them. So, we organized an afternoon concert and a hot meal, featuring our own new  praise band performing their original musical pieces and songs from Community of Christ Sings. Please share these details and organized a group road trip to Barrie with your congregation and friends. For admission & meal, we suggest a minimal $10 donation. Starts right at 3 pm at Ferris Lane Community Church at 49 Ferris Lane, Barrie. Contact Matthew Swain (705)797-0481 or

“Searching for Something” – Young Adult Retreat (March 27,28 &29)
We are asking you to partner with us and proactively invite young adult in your community to come for a fun & relaxing weekend with Guest Ministry, Seventy Kris Judd.  Our age range is very flexible, but if the young person is under 19, then they must bring a guardian, but we won’t check identity cards of anyone who looks older than 25.  The retreat starts Friday evening, including activities all day Saturday, and finishes Sunday after church. We are planning to billeting people, and comfortable sleeping arrangements will be made for everyone, but we need to know in advance to plan something for you.  As well, we are making efforts to provide activities for the children of the participants, but we must have advanced warning someone is planning to bring their children with them. Approximate cost is $30 per person, $50 per couple. Participants or their pastors must register them ASAP before March 13 by contacting Matt Swain at (705)797-0481 or at
